Due to updated state SNAP restrictions, EBT will no longer be accepted for the following:
Candy
chocolate, gummies, caramels, hard candies, taffy, mints, gum
Soft Drinks
soda, sweet tea, energy drinks, sports drinks, flavored water
So far what SNAP recipients are saying:
- “I’m having to use my own cash now to buy food.”
- “I couldn’t go out this weekend because I had to pay for food.”
- “I have to be aware of the cost of items before putting them in the cart.”
- “I’m buying store brands and cutting coupons.”
